What is 2FA?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a way of authenticating a user through the use of two different factors. These factors are typically something a user knows (e.g., a password), something they have (e.g., a mobile phone), or something they are (e.g., biometric information). 2FA adds another layer of protection to an account as it means you need both of these factors to access the account.
Once 2FA is enabled for a Monex USA user, they will be prompted for both their password and then a code from an authenticator app or SMS.
What types of 2FA are available?
Monex USA offers two types of double authentication.
SMS – users receive a 6-digit code via text. This is available to all cell phone numbers – including NON-US cell numbers
Authenticator App – users receive a 6-digit code via any authenticator app on their phone or desktop. Authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or Duo Mobile
How do I disable 2FA?
Monex USA requires two forms of authentication for all users. You may not disable 2FA. You can change which form of 2FA you would like to use by navigating to your User Settings.
